Online Help & Documentation

An important fundamental of S3-CISPUB^TM's long-standing leadership in publishing is its user-friendly design. Users intuitively know what to do from what they see on the screen. Online documentation works hand-in-hand with the self-evident nature of the system. Documentation is easily accessible via function keys, is printable can be modified to incorporate local procedures. Documentation is comprehensive, moving from the very broad (how a particular function relates to publishing) to the individual field level.

Online Help
Two major forms of online Help exist within S3-CISPUB^TM: context-sensitive help and menu option help. The system allows you to authorize one or more persons within your company to customize the Help for your company's particular needs.

Using Context-Sensitive Help
To obtain online Help regarding any prompt or field within the system, press the key while your cursor is in the field or at the prompt for which you need assistance, or click on Help. This information can be sent to a connected printer, viewed on screen or copied and pasted to a favorite word processing program for later use or customization.

Using Menu-Option Help
To obtain more global online Help regarding a particular menu option and the function it performs, press the 'H" key while at any S3-CISPUB^TM menu. The words "Help Mode" will appear in the S3-CISPUB^TM status bar at the bottom of your screen.

Online-Help Customization
S3-CISPUB^TM will allow any person having authorization to customize the online Help text. This is done by accessing the Help system the same way any operator would. However, instead of displaying the normal Help window, the system will display the S3-CISPUB^TM Help System Customization window. You can print a side-by-side comparison of your customization work. If at any time you wish to revert to the standard Help, S3-CISPUB^TM allows this to be done by clicking on the "Revert" button within the Online Help system.
