HARVEST HOUSE PUBLISHERS UPGRADE TO S3-CISPUB^TM

Harvest House Publishers is currently in the final phases of implementation and will soon go live on the latest version of S3-CISPUB^TM, Version 9, upgrading from an earlier version of the CISPUB^TM software that has been running their business operations for the past 5 years. They depend heavily on S3-CISPUB^TM for their day-to-day operations, including inventory control, order entry and fulfillment, customer service, integrated warehouse management, royalty calculations and its built-in business intelligence and marketing support software.

The upgrade to version 9 provides Harvest House with enhanced reporting and information analysis, better customer information, and integration with other important PC software. Further, S3's ModFlex™ technology (a fully integrated piece of S3-CISPUB^TM Version 9) has allowed Harvest House to bring all of their existing modifications under version control, in effect allowing them to maintain a highly-modified system, while remaining on a standard upgrade path and substantially reducing future upgrade costs.

"Because it is written for our industry, it supports our internal best practices, and when we need changes, it is easily modifiable", said Mark Dietz, Director of Operations at Harvest House. "S3-CISPUB^TM is a very tight system if run properly. S3 has so stabilized the software that it just quietly grinds away. Unlike other systems which I have encountered, it doesn't get in the way of doing your job." And things are only getting better.

Since moving onto CISPUB^TM, Harvest House has experienced significant growth without any substantial software "growing pains". "The system is easily scalable. We don't have to go through any painful process as we grow. It never complains about the number of users, the size or number of our orders or the paces we put it through." This is due in part to the robust IBM UniVerse database on the backend that allows S3-CISPUB^TM to store and manipulate data and procedures more efficiently and offers standard interface options for easy integration to other products.

"It is an accumulation of many little things", said Mark Dietz, "that makes it the right choice for Harvest House. I know that doesn't sound like much, but it is huge to us."
