SAGE PUBLICATIONS UPGRADES WITH S3

Sage Publications of Newbury Park, CA recently went live on S3's latest publishing business system, making extensive use of the order entry / fulfillment and inventory / warehouse management system modules while integrating with their existing Epicor account package.

After exploring all of their options, Sage Publications determined that S3 represented the best price-to-value ratio, addressing their key software needs at a minimal expense next to all other options. "With S3's Version 9 upgrade offer, we were able to save hundreds of thousands of dollars by not having to invest in a new order processing system for our books division" explained Tracey Ozmina, Vice President and CIO at Sage.

"We were able to replace our outdated, unsupported and ill-performing order processing system affordably," commented Tracey. "With the flexibility in the code and the structure of the picking ticket features in Version 9, we were also able to completely restructure our warehouse picking process. This will reduce Sage's labor costs by being able to more efficiently pick and pack our products for shipment."

Sage Publications has an extensive in-house IT staff that works closely with S3 to coordinate system modifications, bringing all of their software development under version control and warrant through S3. "We now have a vendor for support and to augment our development resources when necessary while still maintaining control and flexibility over our development environment and methodology," said Tracey. "S3 helped us upgrade to a more affordable platform of Compaq, Windows 2000 and Universe from an older environment of HP, UNIX and Unidata."
